January 27, 2006, Newsletter Issue #4: The act of painting

Tip of the Week

The act of painting is at once incredibly personal and very public. The budding artist may cringe at times at the thought of sharing creations with others, but in a way, until they are shared, paintings remain incomplete. In another sense, each new viewer is an example of the art being created all over again.

A great painting tip: lighting is everything. If you don't have proper light in your studio, consider purchasing some daylight lamps to illuminate your works properly. You'll also have the added benefit of being able to work at any time during the day or night.
