March 5, 2010, Newsletter Issue #179: Adding a Solvent to Your Oil Paint

Tip of the Week

Many artists when painting with oil paint likes to add a solvent to their work to dilute or change the way the paint works. If you choose to add a solvent to your oil paint you need to remember that solvents are very flammable, so do not use near a flame. You must also remember to use in a well-ventilated room as solvents are often harmful to breathe in.
