January 19, 2007, Newsletter Issue #51: Is My Easel Stable?

Tip of the Week

Your easel can only be as stable as the floor in which it is standing on. If your floor in the room of which you paint isn’t even, then your easel won’t sit very stable on your floor. There are certain easels that may work better on an uneven floor. A three-leg easel may give you the most stability if your floor isn’t exactly perfectly even. You may even be able to purchase a three-leg easel that allows for the legs to be adjusted so that you are able to create an even more even painting area. If you are painting a large surface area, then a sturdy wood easel may work best, but if you are painting a small canvas, a metal easel may work well for you.
