February 29, 2008, Newsletter Issue #108: The Best Way to Save Oil Paint
1
Tip of the Week
Oil paints begin to dry the minute you open them, therefore it can make saving them a little difficult. You also lose some of their adhesives, but there is a way to try to save leftover oil paint for later use. First, transfer any of your leftover paint blobs to a piece of glass. Then take the glass and insert it in some water. After that take some plastic wrap and tightly wrap the glass you removed from the water in the plastic wrap. Make sure to wrap tightly so no air is let in under the plastic wrap. Then take the entire glass wrapped plastic with the paint inside and put in the freezer. This process should enable you to save your oil paints until the next use.
