August 13, 2010, Newsletter Issue #202: Your Easel Angle Matters!

Tip of the Week

If purchasing an easel to paint on, you should think about the angle of the easel and what works best for you. Depending on which type of painting you are doing you should know that you may need to change the angle of your easel to ensure best results. If you are choosing oil paints, you will need your angle to adjust to a more vertical position. If you are using watercolors for your painting you will need to adjust your easel to be a bit more horizontally angled so that your watercolors don’t run down your canvas. When purchasing an easel it is a good idea to get an easel that adjusts easily for easier painting!
