July 23, 2010, Newsletter Issue #199: Why Should I Use an Easel?

Tip of the Week

Some people may tell you that they don’t paint on an easel, which is a personal choice when painting. Many professionals recommend that if you are fairly new to painting you should try using an easel first. One benefit to using an easel is that an easel will hold your canvas at a level that works for you. Your work is attached to the easel in which can keep your work from slipping and thus causing you to make mistakes when painting. Easels are also great for those of you who paint around a pet or your children. An easel helps keep your work safe from messy hands and paws!
