New Tip Title: Applying Your Oil Paint New Tip: There are two basic ways to apply your oil paint onto your canvas or paper. One application is referred to as a direct application. Direct painting means that you will apply your paint in one sitting or application. Another way to apply your oil paint is referred to as an indirect application. When you indirectly apply your oil paint you make several layers of paint on your paper or canvas, thus you aren’t applying your paint all in one sitting.
